UNICOF Donates Computers to Hospital
The Union of Industry, Commerce and Finance (UNICOF) of the Ghana Trades Union Congress (TUC) has donated desktop computers to the Upper East Regional Hospital.
Delivering the items to the Upper East Regional Hospital, the Upper East Regional Chairperson for UNICOF, Mr. Salifu Draman, said “the gesture is to enhance quality medical treatments at the hospital.” He continued that “the effort marks the commemoration of the first Prime Minister and President of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.” Mr. Salifu Draman was supported by the UNICOF Regional Women’s Chairperson, Patience Wanoma, as well as the National Youth Vice Chairman, Abanga Bukari.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Hospital, Dr. Rashida Nyarko expressed appreciation to UNICOF for donating the computers and accessories to the hospital, adding that, “the items would aid the hospital in providing quality medical care to the public.”
The In-Charge for the Maternity Ward division of the hospital, Madam Aylsham, also expressed her appreciation adding that “the computers have come at the right time” because within the ward they were only “managing with one computer.” She appealed to the government and other institutions to provide more items to the hospital especially patience chairs, beds and computers for effective medical provision at the facility.
